Responsible for collection of blood samples from patients for laboratory. Performing venipuncture testing by patients of all groups and instructing outpatients in the collection process for samples, and compliance with regulatory standards. Will also assist Guest Services Associate and Health Coach as necessary.
1.Responsible for collection of blood samples from patients of all ages.
2.Facilitates collection and transportation of laboratory specimens.
3.Ensure proper identification of all patients and specimens.
4.Practice infection control standards at all times.
5.Maintains quality results by following department procedures.
6.Maintains safe, secure and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
7.Assists Patient Information Representative and Health Coach as requested.
8.Travel to other CWH sites to assist as necessary.
9.Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or GED. Current Phlebotomy Certification. Efficient use of 10-key calculator, copier and computer. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, interpret orders and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate in Spanish and English with patients and family members of various education, socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid current NCDL, current BLS Certification and Phlebotomy Certification Required.
Hours: Mon - Thurs. Occasional Sat.
35 hrs. per week.
